Sedentary lifestyle is one of the risks factors for obesity and chronic diseases. Similarly, pre-existing chronic diseases and older age may prevent one from being active in exercise. Regular moderate exercise is good for weight control, and has been shown to reduce the risk for chronic diseases, improve sleep disorder and bone health. In this health talk, the benefits of Taiji as a moderate intensity exercise, specifically in gait balance and cognitive health with evidence of latest research will be discussed. The health talk aims to promote regular moderate intensity exercise among general population for health maintenance.
