Today (20 May 2021), UNIMAS accomplished yet another significant milestone in its internationalisation endeavour by exchanging Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with not one, but two of its counterparts in Indonesia: Universitas Gunadarma in Jakarta, and Universitas Brawijaya in Malang.
The MoUs revolve around the domains of Built Environment, such as traditional architecture, urban and settlement theories, and conservation and preservation techniques as well as cultural interests and needs of the local communities in which the parties are respectively situated. By combining UNIMAS’ prowess in areas such as Borneo Sustainability, Biodiversity, Digital Transformation, Environment and Green Technology, Community Health and Wellness, these warmly embraced partnerships are poised to bring further benefits to the surrounding communities for many more years to come. Underpinned with an array of cultural similarities, all parties envisage of bringing impactful development to this part of the world through holistic and sustainable built environmental studies.
Professor Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi, the Vice Chancellor of UNIMAS, graced this online ceremony in the virtual presence of Bapak Yonny Tri Prayitno, the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Kuching, Sarawak, Profesor Dr. Ir. Nuhfil Hanani, the Rector of Universitas Brawijaya, and Profesor Dr Eko Sri Margianti, the Rector of Universitas Gunadarma.
